Notary & Drafting Services

We can draft, certify, provide notary and legal services for the documents below at our location, plus many more - this is by no means an exhaustive list!

  • IRCC Invitation/Sponsorship Letter

Canadian visitor visa applicants require an invitation/sponsorship letter from someone who resides in Canada. A letter of invitation does not guarantee that IRCC will issue a visa. Visa officers assess applications to decide whether the applicants meet the terms of Canada's immigration law.

Writing a letter of invitation does not mean that the inviter is legally responsible for the visitor once he or she gets to Canada. Inviter should still write the letter in good faith and must tell the truth and plan to keep the promises made in the letter. Such letters must be notarized before sending them to the Canadian embassy or consulate outside of Canada when he or she applies for a temporary resident visa.

  • Consent letter for children travelling outside Canada

A consent letter demonstrates that a child has permission to travel outside Canada from every parent or guardian who is not accompanying them on the trip. It should be used for all cross-border travel when a child is traveling alone, with only 1 parent or guardian, in the care of friends or relatives, or with a group such as a sports, school, musical or religious group.

  • Statutory Declaration

Commonly used to allow a person to declare something to be true for the purposes of satisfying some legal requirement or regulation when no other evidence is available. They are thus similar to affidavits, which, however, are made on oath.

  • Affidavit

A written statement that contains important facts you want the judge to know about. You swear it under an oath (or affirm) before a commissioner for the oath. "To swear" means you promise that the information contained in the affidavit is true.

  • Will

A legal document that allows you to direct how your property will be distributed after your death; name your personal representatives who will represent your estate after your death and carry out the wishes you have stated in your will; name a guardian for any children who are the minors at the time of your death.

  • Certified True copies

It refers to a signed and stamped document that has been verified and certified by a notary after comparing it with the original document. The notary ensures that all the information given in the certified true copy is the same as the primary document.

  • Power of attorney

A legal document that you sign to give one person, or more than one person, the authority to manage your money and property on your behalf. In Alberta, the person you appoint is called an "attorney". That person does not need to be a lawyer.

  • Personal Directive

A legal document that you make in case you cannot make your own personal decisions in the future. It is optional, voluntary, and highly recommended. This legal document names the person you have picked to make personal decisions for you. This ensures your written instructions are known in case something happens to you. It only comes into effect if you are found to lack capacity - that means you are not able to make your own decisions. Your instructions can be about any or all personal matters that are not financial matters, such as medical treatments you would or would not want.
